Canto, Flor, y Llanto Debut Party

Join us for a day of poetry, music, refreshments, and a sneak peek at Celia Aguilar's Artist Incubator Project funded by MCAD, "Canto, Flor, y Llanto." Celia will read from her debut book and display the manuscript for public viewing. "Canto, Flor, y Llanto" is an eclectic collection of poetry, prose, and short stories paying homage to life on the border - the culture, the privileges, the pains, and the joys. The book also honors a few local humble heroes. The manuscript will be on display for the public to look through. Danza Azteca Omecoatl will open the event with ceremony followed by readings by authors Gris Muñoz, Deana Lee Ortega, and Patty Orozco. Music will be provided by Keliana and the night will culminate with a special surprise for the locals featured in the book. The event is free and open to the public and is made possible by funding from the Museum and Cultural Affairs Department.
