Family Day: Land & People

Join us for a Family Day event celebrating our local history and natural environment with Frontera Arts & Education Collaborative and Amanecer People’s Project!
During this free drop-in event, visitors can view Amanecer’s new pop-up exhibit “Environment on the Edge: Climate Justice in El Paso” and enjoy hands-on crafts. Amanecer People’s Project will be leading a story time and art-making activity for public.
Frontera Arts & Education Collaborative will be inviting the public to participate in Project Mariposa, a year-long collaborative art series featuring the literal and figurative facets of the monarch butterfly.
Individuals will be creating pieces of a monarch butterfly wall hanging that, once complete, produces the effect of collective movement and migration.
The community-created installation will represent hope and freedom while celebrating the storied symbolism of the monarch butterfly itself. Led by artist Saige Soskin and educator Rachel Weislow, all ages are welcome.
